The chalice symbolizes the central place communion has in worship for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

The x-shaped cross of St. Andrew on the chalice is a reminder of our Scottish heritage, as well as a reminder of the ministry of each person and the importance of sharing the Good News.
